Deep ruby red to purple in color, the aromas start off with black fruits, cherries and spicy dried herb characteristics. Secondary aromas are Nutmeg and currants. This is a well balanced and full bodied Malbec and it is buoyed with flavors of currants and spices. The tannins are softening and this wine stays with you through the finish with lingering black fruit and nutmeg tones.

These Malbec grapes were picked on a late September morning, the cool grapes delivered to the winery before mid day. The cool temperatures of the fruit allowed us to cold soak the must on the skins in the winery for a few days before beginning primary fermentation. The grapes were left with approximately 25% uncrushed in order to assist with retaining bright fruit characters. Towards the end of fermentation the fruit was pressed from skins and sent to barrels for secondary fermentation followed by 22 months of aging. After a few rackings it was pulled from barrels and blended before bottling.
